NBA playoffs

The NBA playoofs do not interest me because of the length.
It seems like it takes 2 months to find a champion. The regular season is long enough to weed out the teams that don't desere to be there. I know it is to make more money, but it is just not working for me. I think they should make all series the best of 3 except for the championship which can remain 7. This way a team can't just lose after one game, but hasd to play hard the whole playoffs. I would watch much more basketball were this the case.

Fired coaches.

I am still having some trouble understanding why soem coaches have recently parted ways with their teams. Mike D'antoni and Avery Johnson come to mind. Both have been perennial contenders and are high seeds in the playoffs every year.
It seems as if you absolutely have to win a chamionship to stick around. But only one team can win a year so that makes it very difficult for a coach to keep his job. Do these teams really think they are going to find somebody better?
Maye the Suns and Mavericks should have just swapped coaches.

What happened to Albert Pujols?

There are a lot of huge stars that seem to have fallen off the radar. I understand that injury has to a lot to do with it, but sometimes it doesn't.
Albert Pujols comes to mind because he was supposed to be the next great thing and he hasn't done a whole lto in a while. And what about Ryan Howard? He was on pace to break every record that ever existed, now he is not even in the top 2 for homeruns on the Phillies.
I see a trend.
The utility guys are the popular ones now. Chase Utley leading the league in HR's? Speed and accuracy are seeming more and more important in baseball, and power is not as important.

coincidence?

Have you ever come up with something tha tyou thought was a great idea only to learn that it is already a popular (or unpopular) thing?
I came across this when I was a teenager playing Ken Griffey J.R.'s basbeall game on N64. A flyball was hit high in the infield and, with runners on first and third, I let it fall so I could get 2 outs instead of one. When it fell however they called the infield fly rule, and I said "ohhhh."

Night clubs

It seems like you hear about an athlete being arrested at least once a week, and more often than not it occurs in a club.
Why are these guys still going to night clubs?
There are a ton of other things to do including sleeping and practicing for your sport. I just don;t understand why all of these guys have to keep going into these situations.

On a similar note, why do so many athletes have guns? I could see if somebody needed protection in their home, but it sounds like a lot of them carry their guns around with them.

They even take their guns into night clubs creating an even worse situation.

Arena football

So Rio Rancho just got their own arena football team. It isn't the popular AFL that is shown on ESPN but a smaller version.
There has been a rise in popularity among Arena football in the last year or so. I don't know if it will translate into popularity for the league that the Rio Rancho Wildcats are in.

For those who don't know, Arena football is played very much like NFL football but wuth some changes. I am not an expert on this matter, but I know a lot of th differences.

The field is smaller. This means high scoring games. Sometimes I mistake the scores on ESPN for NBA games.

The out of bounds area is a wall, much like in hockey.

There are a lot off other changes too but these are the ones that I have found the most different.

Oakland Raiders

One of the worst teams in proffessional sports just got a whole lot better.
After this year's NFL draft the Raiders now have young talent where it counts. Last year's first overall pick was QB Jamarcuss Russell and this year's 4th overall oick Darren McFadden both went to Oakland.

If those players live up to their potential, it could create success that even Al Davis couldn't ruin. Not to mention that they snagged one of the best CB's in the game in Deangelo Hall.
